And now he wants to take the form the lads showed particularly against Germany into our huge Premier League clash against Liverpool on Saturday.
Dele won rave reviews in England’s 3-2 win in Berlin where Harry Kane kick-started the comeback and Eric Dier headed home a famous late winner.
The Three Lions came back to earth with a bump with a 2-1 loss against Holland on Tuesday night. Danny Rose and Kyle Walker started with Dele, Eric and Harry arriving as late substitutes – all five of our players capped on the night.
Overall, Dele described his week with the squad as ‘a great experience’.
“It’s always great to play for your country and to do it with these lads makes it even better,” said Dele after the friendly at Wembley. “It’s a big credit to Mauricio and the whole club.
“This result is a low after what happened in Germany, which was a great team performance. I thought the team played well again. It’s a learning curve for us.”

Back at Hotspur Way, it’s now crunch time as we sit second in the Premier League, five points behind Leicester with seven matches remaining. The first of those seven is at Anfield on Saturday (5.30pm).
“There are only a few games left until the end of the season and it’s important now that we perform well again at Tottenham and we take how we played with England back to the club,” said Dele.
Finally, it was suggested to Dele that his Dutch team-mate Michel Vorm might just mention the result back at Hotspur Way. “He’s already text me!” he smiled. “It was great for Michel to get called up as well. He’s a great goalkeeper and a great guy."
