Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Jermain Defoe was so nearly the hero as England opened their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-2 draw in Austria.

The in-form striker entered the fray for Alan Smith after 76 minutes and struck the post from 25 yards with two minutes left.

Ledley King also earned his ninth cap on a disappointing night for Sven Goran Eriksson's men - England threw away a 2-0 lead as Austria scored twice in two minutes to share the spoils, the equaliser from Ivanschitz somehow slipping under David James' body.

Elsewhere in World Cup qualifying, Robbie Keane equalled Niall Quinn's goalscoring record for the Republic of Ireland with his 21st goal in the 3-0 win against Cyprus.

Erik Edman was substituted after 49 minutes of Sweden's 7-0 thrashing of Malta while Noureddine Naybet's Morocco drew 1-1 with Tunisia.

Kasey Keller was on the bench as the USA beat El Salvador 2-0 at the Foxboro Stadium, Massachusettes, Manchester United's Tim Howard played in goal.

On Friday night, Stephen Kelly played 90 minutes as Republic of Ireland U21s beat Cyprus and Marton Fulop was in goal for Hungary U21s in their 1-0 defeat against Croatia in European U21 Championship qualifying.
