Our in-form striker will hope to add to his four caps and hopefully score his first senior goal in tonight's World Cup qualifier against Poland.
Jermain, 21, has been in electric form this season with three goals in our four Premiership games.
"Growing up as a young lad all I wanted to do was play for England and this is a dream come true," said Jermain. "I have to pinch myself sometimes.
"I've always worked hard and said to myself I'll keep working hard no matter what.
"Even though as a forward I want to score goals and love scoring goals there will be times when I have bad patches and that's when you have to keep your head up and work hard and come through it. That's what I've done, worked hard and now I'm here.
"I'm raring to go and given the chance I'll be ready."
Jermain Defoe admits he still has to pinch himself when he's on full international duty with England.
