Aston Villa U19s 3-0 Spurs

Coach Pat Holland felt his U19s deserved a little more out of Saturday's encounter.

They went behind after a defensive mistake from a free-kick, were caught on the break a minute before half-time and after their best spell of the game, conceded again pushing on with 20 minutes left.

Pat, who had praise for Michael Malcolm after his first start for the U19s, reflected: "Villa started well and the front two caused us a few problems but we weathered that storm, put together a couple of counter-attacks and got behind them.

"But we then conceded a poor goal from a set-piece and again before the break.

"Mark Yeates went on for the second half and he was instrumental in our best spell in the first 20 minutes of the half and it looked just a question of when the goal would come. Unfortunately it didn't and they caught us on the break again.

"We still created a few more chances and it was disappointing we didn't score. The lads deserved some reward from the performance."

Spurs U19s: Rutherford, Perry (Tyrie, 70), Wettner, Hughes, Henry, Foster, Marney, Noto, Malcolm, Barnett (Yeates, 45), Black (Ford, 80). Unused sub: Burch.
