Midfielder Gus bagged his 12th goal of a memorable season in Saturday's 2-1 Premiership victory over Sunderland.
The win came after first assistant manager John lost his father-in-law, we lost the Worthington Cup Final and then Glenn lost his father on Wednesday.
Gus, who scored alongside Les Ferdinand, revealed: "We said before that we had to play for everyone but especially for Glenn Hoddle because he had a very bad week.
"We want to dedicate the win to him and John Gorman. We wanted to do it for them.
"They had to continue working when their families weren't in the best of minds. At least they can go home now, breathe and relax a little."
Les, who netted his 15th of the campaign, added: "Everyone knows Glenn's dad was an ardent Spurs fan and was here all the time and for something like that to come out of the blue put an even bigger dampener on the week.
"Everyone was disappointed with the cup result but you sit down, analyse everything and Glenn losing his father puts it all into perspective."
Gus Poyet finally had time for a smile after a tricky week and declared: "That win was for Glenn Hoddle and John Gorman."
