Ledley King wasn't surprised by the positive impact of new signings Scott Parker and Emnmanuel Adebayor at Wolves.

The pair came straight in for their debuts and played key roles as we collected our first points of the Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win at Molineux.

Indeed, the debutants combined for the opening goal as Emmanuel latched onto Scott's pass, beat Wayne Hennessey and slotted home.

"We knew what we were getting and what they would bring to the team and we saw that straight away at Wolves," said Ledley, outstanding on his return to central defence.

"Scott was brilliant, getting around people, winning the ball and setting us off on attacks.

"Ade gives you that something different up front. He’s a big man, can hold the ball, is skilful, quick and scores goals.

"We’re delighted to have them both at the club."
