The bedding-in process has been accelerated by the fact that Deano moved into a property in the area and is reaping the benefits of having his family around him.
"I'm more settled now," said Deano. "I've moved into my house and it was a bit of a bind because I was renting before.
"I'm pleased to be in my house now, I've been there for a while now and a feel better in myself now.
"Next season I can come back and everything will be perfect for me."
Dean admits that the upheaval of switching clubs during the course of a season can be a trying time. The fact that the season is underway leaves little time for preparing for the move and house-hunting. It is now all in the past for the powerful central defender.
"I think it does because it means hotels, finding accomodation and being seperated from your family.
"You miss pre-season and it's a bit strange really.
"I feel like I've settled in now and I've got to know the lads throughout the season and feel part of it now.
"Next season I can go on and be a bit stronger."
Dean Richards describes himself as more settled at the club now and ready to make an increased impact next season.
