Meanwhile, Academy defender Cameron Carter-Vickers helped the US Under-20 Men’s National Team secure qualification for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup with a 2-0 victory over El Salvador in their CONCACAF Under-20 Championship play-off in Jamaica on Saturday evening.
The 17-year-old centre-half played every minute of every game for his nation at the latter tournament this month, scoring in a 1-1 draw with Guatemala before a 1-0 loss to Panama and consecutive wins over Aruba (8-0), Jamaica (2-0) and Trinidad & Tobago (1-0) set up Saturday’s play-off clash.
