Playing wide on the right in a 3-5-2 formation, DeAndre played a key role in the build-up to the States’ second goal in Rancagua – performing a neat exchange with Mix Diskerud on the flank before the latter’s cut-back was put away by Jozy Altidore.
That 31st-minute strike made it 2-1 after Brek Shea’s opener had been cancelled out by Chile’s Roberto Gutierrez.
However, two second half goals from Mark Gonzalez saw the hosts run out 3-2 winners.
The States will play a further friendly against Panama in California on Sunday, February 8.
