Big defender Dean looks likely to line-up against 'Sir Les' when we travel to Leicester City in the Premiership.
Les moved to City in the summer via a brief spell at West Ham after five-and-a-half seasons at the Lane.
He's back from injury and no doubt up for the challenge - just as he was playing for West Ham against us last season.
"I remember that game," recalled Dean. "He was up for up it - you could see it in his eyes. He'd been let go by us, had a point to prove and that gave him an extra edge.
"You know what you are going to get from Les. He's strong, quick and brave - as brave as anyone I've ever played with.
"Just look at his goal against Southampton this season, unbelievable. He still has that great spring.
"I've always admired Les, going back to his days at QPR. He then had a great spell at Newcastle with Alan Shearer.
"He's had a great career but he's at the back end of it now, if he was in his peak he would be a frightening proposition. I met him recently and he's a top bloke, a real gentleman."
Dean Richards describes Les Ferdinand as one of the bravest players he's played with or against.
