Anderton singled out the returning Les Ferdinand after Tuesday night’s win. Ferdinand, back from another head knock, scored the fourth goals in a game that had three red cards, three penalties and six goals.
Anderton added: “We haven’t played well, we’ve played awful really, but having Les back was a big boost. He’s been outstanding for us this season.
“We needed that win big time and once we scored the first goal, the confidence came straight back.”
