We conceded another poor goal in our 2-1 defeat at Coventry City on Saturday to add to those at Leeds and Charlton.
The first thing George said in his press conference at Highfield Road was that his side are leaking goals too easily.
Midfielder Anderton, back in the starting line-up after injury, agreed. “In the last two games we’ve conceded a few goals and that’s disappointing,” he said. “I’m sure if anyone can sort that out the gaffer can.
“These are the sort of games that we want to win and I know the gaffer thinks these are games we should be winning. It is disappointing but we can’t do anything about it now.
“We’ve got to try and put it right and now we’ve a game to look forward to next Saturday.”
In the end goals from John Aloisi and John Eustace were enough for City to claim the points despite Sergei Rebrov’s reply, Carlton Palmer’s sending off and constant pressure in the second half.
Anderton played a key role in our second half onslaught but admitted we’d left ourselves with too much to do.
He concluded: “We started quite well but once they scored it gave them a lift and they played well for the rest of the half and we struggled to get going.“In the second half we improved a bit but you can’t afford to give teams a two-goal start in this league.”
