Daz accepts World Cup fate

Posted on 10 May 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Darren Anderton says that he accepted his England World Cup fate some weeks ago.

After pulling out of the squad for the friendly with Holland in February with a hamstring injury, Darren was not named in the subsequent squads to face Italy and Paraguay.

The hamstring niggle hampered Darren for a number of weeks and his form suffered in comparison to the way he started and ended the campaign. This maybe occurred at the worst possible time for the midfielder.

"I had a little dip in my form from February through to March when squads were being named," reflected Darren, who remains upbeat about the way the season has panned out for him on a personal level, playing in excess of 40 games.

"I would love to go, but looking back on the year, if I'd have been sat here this time last year knowing the season I was going to have I would have been delighted.

"That's how I feel."
