FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18
Villa will be a tough test of our recent form on Monday night.
They are always strong defensively with the likes of Richard Dunne, James Collins, Alan Hutton will be back at the Lane and now Shay Given in goal.
But we believe we can win any game at the moment and that winning mentality is vital.
It means even if you are behind in a game, or in a scenario like we were at Fulham, under pressure, you always believe you will win. We have to try to keep that going.
The lads have put in some great performances of late and managed to get wins, which is most important.
We had to dig in at Fulham and we’ve been to Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn and picked up big away wins.
Everyone knows we have all the skill and flair in the world but Fulham showed another side to the team, just as important, a real determination to win.
You look at the squad and the players we’ve still to come back in like William Gallas, who has just returned, Niko Kranjcar, Sandro and Steven Pienaar are fit again and I don’t see why we can’t keep this run going.
Just a quick note on my injury.
I’m sure fans will all know that I had the operation on my Achilles a couple of weeks ago. I go back to see the specialist in December and it’s positive news so far, I’m back in the gym, working hard and hopefully I’ll be back before too long. I can’t wait to get back!
