Michael Dawson was left to rue the fact that we failed to click into gear until it was too late at Norwich on Sunday.

We started slowly at Carrow Road but it remained goalless after a largely uneventful first half.

However, the Canaries struck just two minutes into the second half and that proved decisive as we succumbed to a first away loss in the Premier League in eight having won six of the previous seven.

We had chances at 1-0 as John Ruddy denied Emmanuel Adebayor twice, Roberto Soldado struck the side-netting and then Ruddy produced the save of the match to block Nacer Chadli from close range.

“I think we eventually got playing in the 60th minute when we were 1-0 down and that’s not good enough,” reflected the skipper.

“Norwich got men behind the ball and played well in the first half.

“We couldn’t get the ball down and play like we normally do.

“We had a few chances towards the end and we maybe could have got something out of the game but overall, it was a disappointing performance.

“We’ve been on a great run, seven games unbeaten away but this shows you can’t take anything for granted in this league.”
