Michael Dawson has hailed the ‘magnificent’ performance of the team after Sunday’s 3-0 victory against Stoke City.

A first half penalty from Roberto Soldado was built on after the interval with fine strikes from Mousa Dembele and Aaron Lennon – giving us a welcome victory at White Hart Lane.

And centre-half Michael, who himself had a crack at goal in the first half, felt we could have boosted our tally further on the day, such was the dominance we showed against the Potters.

“It was comfortable, very comfortable,” Daws reflected after the game. “I thought the boys were magnificent. We pressed, we won the ball back in good areas and it gave us a chance to get the ball in the box and we could have had a few more.

“We all want to chip in with goals. I had a chance in the first half from a cross, but I got too much on it. It’s a team game, we score goals together and that’s what it’s about.

“Today it’s been another clean sheet and we’re very happy. We go away with the three points and we’ve finished 2013 on a high.”
