Michael has been hugely impressive against the full range of strikers in his three games so far. First it was Fernando Morientes at Liverpool on his debut, then the power of Kevin Campbell against West Brom and then the pace of Jose Antonio Reyes at Highbury.
Now he'll face a combination of Carlton Cole, Darius Vassell and Juan Pablo Angel in the crucial fixture against Villa in the Barclays Premiership.
Michael knows Cole well from England Under-21 duty and said: "He's a big, physical lad. I've played with him and trained with him for England Under-21s and he'll be tough to play against.
"We had the same physical challenge against West Brom and looking at the three games I've played, I've already faced all kinds of different forwards.
"Angel is skilful and Vassell has just come back as well for Villa. You get everything in the Premiership - little and large combinations, pace, power, you name it, it's here."
He's faced skill, strength and pace - Michael Dawson is ready for his next challenge when Aston Villa come to the Lane on Sunday.
