'Daws' up for the Cup!

Michael Dawson is hoping this can be our year in the FA Cup - but he is wary of the threat our Fourth Round opponents Leeds United will pose at the Lane on Saturday.

The League One leaders were the conquerors of Manchester United in the last round, and the defender knows Simon Grayson's side will be looking to cause a similar upset in N17.

But ‘Daws' insists the Yorkshiremen will be coming up against a Spurs side intent on going as far as we can in the competition this season.

He said: "Every competition we play in, we want to do well and the FA Cup is a fantastic cup. Liverpool and Man United have gone out and we are looking forward to the Leeds game, but we can't take anything for granted.

"They played Man United and they were brilliant and they are doing well in the league, so we know we are going to be in for a tough game.

"I can't see them playing any different to the way they played against Man United. To go to Old Trafford and win in the way they did, not many teams do that, so I don't see them coming to White Hart Lane and changing that."

‘Daws' continued: "I certainly hope this can be our year. Every year we believe we can go on a good run. We have done it in the League Cup and hopefully we can do it in the FA Cup now.

"I think it is a competition everyone wants to win, not just the manager but the fans and the players too. It is a fantastic cup and everything we enter we want to win.

"We will take it game by game and so at the moment we are just looking forward as far as the Leeds game."
