"We're confident and thankfully we've got a game so close after Chelsea," stated Michael. "Maybe we need a bit of rest but, believe me, we want this game to come around. We want to put the Chelsea game to bed and then look forward to next week.
"We played well over in Braga and perhaps a couple of decisions went against us that gave them two goals and a bit of a lifeline.
"With us at home this time, the supporters have been fantastic and that helps us so much."
Daws went on to reflect on being handed the captain's armband on Sunday in the absence of Ledley King, Robbie Keane and Paul Robinson.
Having a 3-1 half-time lead cancelled out late on the FA Cup quarter final did, however, tarnish the memory for the popular central defender.
"It did put a big smile on my face knowing what a great honour it was and a special feeling it was to lead the team out.
"Unfortunately, I couldn't stay happy because we were all so disappointed about the result.
"Looking back on it, it doesn't make it any easier that it was a game where I was captain because come the end of the game we were not happy with the outcome.
"It would have been a greater feeling if I could have led the celebrations at the end. Our first half performance was fantastic, after getting into a 3-1 lead against a team like Chelsea we should have been home and dry.
"We needed a fourth but, after scoring so many goals recently, we can't keep expecting the front lads to score four every game.
"We've got to keep clean sheets and unfortunately we're not doing that at the moment.
"Believe me we are working on it and talking about it. It is disappointing, you go through stages where you can't keep a clean sheet, then when you do you can't score goals. At the moment we can't stop scoring, so hopefully that carries on and we keep winning games."
