Michael Dawson summed-up the mood as ‘disappointed’ after Saturday’s goalless draw at QPR.

Chances were few and far between in a sometimes scrappy encounter at Loftus Road.

Julio Cesar produced a fantastic double save to deny Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor in the first half, Kyle Walker curled a free-kick inches over and Cesar was there again to keep out JD’s deflected shot in the second half.

At the other end, Michael was in the right place at the right time to deflect wide Shaun Wright-Phillips’ goalbound effort in the first half, QPR’s best chance.

“We’re disappointed not to come away with the three points,” said Michael.

“We had a couple of chances, the great saves from JD and Ade in the first half, we had all the possession but it was so hard to break them down.

“Cesar is a top goalkeeper and if one of those chances had gone in, especially in the first half, they would have had to come at us a little.

“Credit to them, they got everyone behind the ball and worked hard, but it’s disappointing we couldn’t get the goal and the three points.

“They didn’t have too many chances, a couple of half-chances, but nothing that really caused us too much trouble. As I said, we’re just disappointed we couldn’t break them down.”
