Michael Dawson has been impressed with what he's seen of Roberto Soldado in the striker's short stint at the club so far.

Indeed, the captain is predicting big things from the Spanish hitman who opened his Spurs account on his debut in Saturday's friendly against Espanyol at the Lane.

"His movement and touches are fantastic," said Michael. "Fans watched him for the first time on Saturday, I’ve seen him in training and he can send you here, there and everywhere with that movement.

"He’s going to be a top signing and one I’m sure the fans will come to adore."

Michael insisted our three summer arrivals - Roberto, Paulinho and Nacer Chadli - have had a positive effect on the squad.

"They are three big signings," said long-serving Daws, who is preparing to start his ninth season at Spurs after joining us from Forest in January, 2005.

"Everyone is hungry to do well. You could see that with how we started against Espanyol, players want to be in the team and you have to lift your performance again to do that. The signings are a big positive and will improve us as a squad."
