“After a bit of a disappointing start to the season, especially losing to Arsenal on Saturday, it was a fantastic night for us,” reflected the big defender.
“It was great header from Younes to get us going and then Pascal Chimbonda did superbly for my goal – even I struggle to miss from two yards!
“It was the perfect start for us but we have to move on to the next one.”
That game arrives on Sunday when we return to Barclays Premier League action and a trip to Bolton’s Reebok Stadium.
“It was great tonight but we’ll be back on the training ground tomorrow concentrating on Bolton,” added Daws at the Lane.
“As I said, this has been a fantastic night but it’s gone and we move on to the next one. We’ll take confidence from the win and we’ll look to take that to Bolton.
“It’s early in the season but we want to get the points. It’s simple as that and we’re not hiding away from it. We know it will be a tough game but we want to win.”
