We face Anji at the Saturn Stadium, Ramenskoye in Matchday Two having secured a 3-0 win against Tromso in our opening match in Group K on September 19.
Anji have parted company with a host of world-renowned stars including Samuel Eto’o and currently sit at the wrong end of the RPL, but both Michael and Gylfi stressed that nothing will be taken for granted when we face them on Thursday night.
“Going away in Europe, every game is tough,” said Gylfi, who capped another fine display with the goal in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
“We know a lot of players have left Anji but it will still be tough out there.”
“It will be interesting,” added Michael. “Their squad is a lot different from last season, but we expect them to be quite strong so it will be a difficult game.
“Every away match is tough in this competition and this will be no different. We’re just concentrating on trying to build on the win against Tromso and putting ourselves in a strong position in the group.”
