Michael Dawson has expressed his delight at Gareth Bale's PFA Player of the Year award.
Skipper and one of our longest-serving players, 'Daws' was at the club when Gareth arrived in 2008 and has seen him grow and grow in stature over the last 18 months.
Outstanding since stepping back into Harry Redknapp's team in January, 2010, Gareth's performances particularly in the Champions League have made made not just the Premier League, but Europe and beyond stand up and take notice.
And those performances were rewarded by being handed the most prestigious individual award in the British game - voted for by his peers - at the PFA Awards ceremony on Sunday night.
"Gaz has been absolutely top class and he deserves this award," said Michael.
"We always knew he had the ability and he's been unbelievable since breaking back into the team last season.
"It's been great to see how he's developed. He's got raw pace, which is so difficult to defend against and he can deliver at the end of those runs as well because he has such quality in that left foot.
"He works hard every day in training and he's a great lad as well, so we're all delighted for him."
