I thought Liverpool shaded the first half but it's all about bedding players in and getting used to each other. I thought in the second half we started to click, put the pressure on and definitely deserved the draw, perhaps could have won in the end. It's a positive start. There is no quick fix in football - we've got to get used to the manager, the manager has to get used to us and it will take time. I'm sure everyone will agree that was a positive start on Saturday.
It's basically a new side and with that in mind, we did well. The more and more we play and train together, we should get better.
At the moment I'm running in the mrning and then ball work in the afternoon and hopefully I'll continue progressing on both of them. I don't really get too unfit so it shouldn't take too long to get back to fitness.
I'd love to be out there and this time I want to stay out there.
I've been working for a week now, building up from the treadmill to outside and progressively doing more, striking more balls and basically trying to get moving again. I'm not going to say anything about coming back, I don't want to curse myself, but so far, so good. I could have had it done in the summer but surgery really is a last resort. The rehabilitation didn't really pay off though so I've had the operation. Hopefully I'll be back soon so I won't ave missed too much.
