Davies impresses Sandro

Posted on 1 December 2011  - 12:00

Sandro tells Hotspur that he's pleased to leave Bolton striker Kevin Davies to our central defenders.

Since arriving in the Premier League last season, Sandro has come up against many quality midfielders of international renown. And whether their forte is a playmaking role, or they are in there for a battle, our boy from Brazil is ready to take them all on.

With so many high calibre opponents to choose from, Sandro gives the matter a lot of thought when asked who has been the toughest opponent he’s faced since coming to England.

And his answer is a surprising one because Saturday’s visit by Bolton to White Hart Lane reminds him of the man who have given him the most trouble to date.

“It’s a difficult question...there are so many choices and midfield is a strong position with English teams,” he says.

“One I would mention is Bolton’s Kevin Davies. I have not marked him directly because he plays in attack but he often drops deep and is a very strong opponent. I am glad to leave him to our central defenders!”

Read the full interview with Sandro in the December issue of Hotspur magazine where the Brazilian international talks of his optimism for the remainder of this season with Spurs - and recalls how he played Santa to the Gomes family last year!

And one lucky reader will win a signed pair of his match boots in our latest free-to-enter competition.
