Davies delight

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Simon Davies says he's delighted to commit himself to what he believes will be 'great times ahead' at Spurs.

The Welsh midfielder has agreed a new deal that will keep him at the Lane until 2007.

Still just 22, Simon went from strength to strength last season. He made 41 appearances in our 49 games, was an unused substitute in another seven and only missed out on a place in the 16 once.

"I'm delighted," said Simon, preparing for Wales' prestigious friendly against Germany tonight. "This club is going places and I want to be part of it. I'm sure we have a great times ahead.

"We're all determined to take it to the next level. You could see the frustration at Leicester on Saturday, the lads were totally disappointed and those are the games we have to look to win next season.

"Personally it's gone well. Obviously we were disappointed not to get into Europe through the cups or the league but personally I set out a few targets, tried to start on the bench and go from there.

"I started on the bench at the beginning of the season, got a few games and I felt I did okay when I got my chance and that's how it's progressed thoughout the season.

"It's gone how I've planned and I want the same again next season and to continue improving."

Look out for Simon's thoughts on taking on the Germans later...
