OF COURSE we were disappointed to lose at Middlesbrough because in the first half I thought there was only one side playing cohesive football. Unfortunately, we didn't get enough shots at goal as a result of that football.
I thought the whole team defended well. Ledley King and Michael Brown were excellent ball winners in the first half and shielded the back four very well. The shape was very good in the first half.
When the game got open, particularly after the goal, it became more scrappy and we lost a bit of shape as we tried to play more frenetic football.
I thought the penalty against Dean Richards was very harsh. Fortunately they didn't score, so that was a bit of justice and the we presented them with a great opportunity that Job should have scored. That was a mistake though, a miskick. Nemeth took his goal well but we feel we could have prevented it.
Middlesbrough had a surge after half-time and that disturbed us a little but in terms of an away side we've had quite a lot of the play, got in some good positions but couldn't force the issue and at the end of the night, didn't have enough efforts on goal.
