I THOUGHT it was a terrific effort against Charlton. In the first half we could have been four goals up, no question.
We always knew it would be difficult to sustain that pressure because of the youth of the team - it was probably the youngest team we've played for a while.
I thought it was a sad result in the end because the lads deserved more. I must say I was pleased with the contributions of Stephen Kelly on his debut and John Jackson in his second game.
With that attitude, that effort and if we can press teams like that with certain players back, I'm sure it will turn around.
The players know in terms of the overall game, if they'd have won 1-0, the whole thing would have turned on it's head. The fact is they lost 1-0 and goals decide everything. Isolate the game from the goals and they've had a real go and just failed to score, particularly in the first half when we had good chances.
