It is not easy at the moment looking after these boys but they are terrific characters and showed fantastic ability against Portsmouth for Tottenham Hotspur.
We got a start, got pegged back, came again - then the same thing happened until it was 3-3. It looked as though it was swinging towards Portsmouth, we had an indifferent spell and we must give Pompey great credit for the way they took the game to us.
The substitution with Poyet gave us that aerial chance and, as a result of that, we got the important goal at the end.
I am pleased for Jermain Defoe in getting off the mark straight away. We need to do a lot of work with partnerships and how we play. We had to football our way through and, if you haven't got the alternative of the big ugly ball, sometimes it is not easy to play to feet.
The two centre backs for Portsmouth won a lot of headers that you would expect them to win. We've got to work the ball wide and get into positions to capitalise.
I am pleased overall and delighted for everyone connected with the club. Everybody has taken a lot of stick because of the nature of the game the other night.
