We survived a spell of pressure against Middlesbrough on Sunday, I thought they were very strong, threw caution to the wind and came at us. It looked as if fortune might favour them.
I've always been one of these romantics who likes to assess a team with the ball, but without the ball our back four were tremendous. They tackled and the goalkeeper was so well protected throughout the Middlesbrough pressure.
Kasey made two wonderful saves and handled positively - Richards, Gardner and Taricco were excellent. We just lost our rythm after doing alright in the first half where we had a lot of play down the left hand side with Konchesky putting quite a few balls in.
Quite frankly, on the touchline it was an exciting game. You may, however, look at the quality and say it wasn't of the highest.
We do have a good work ethic, look at the boy Konchesky as an example - the way he works back and double covers. It is a case of getting balance right, we didn't keep calm in the second half and started kicking the ball, as opposed to passing it.
We gave them more problems in the first half by moving the ball from side to side. The game in the second half was ebb and flow - Middlesbrough had more ebb and we had less flow.
I am not down about the point - Middlesbrough were good opponents and I said it in my programme notes. All my people told me that they are playing well with little fortune.
