Darren Bent wore a smile as wide as Norwich's River Wensum after his four-goal salvo at Carrow Road on Monday night.
The striker was on fire in front of goal as we completed a convincing 5-1 victory in the friendly against the Championship side.
Naturally, there was an extra glint in Darren's eye as he spent his early career at Norwich's rivals Ipswich Town - a point he was reminded of by home fans throughout the night!
"I was delighted," he beamed afterwards. "I was taking untold amounts of stick but it's great to score four goals against my old rivals and shut everyone up!"
Giovani dos Santos provided the spark to open the scoring when his cross was deflected into his own goal by Dejan Stefanovic.
The Canaries responded well and levelled via Jamie Cureton but Darren drilled home for 2-1 before the break and we got better and better - Darren's second half hat-trick making it four for him on the night and capping an impressive display.
"It was great to score those goals but I thought the performance as a whole from the team was excellent," added Darren. "We created plenty of chances and capped it off with some good goals. It was a good night for us."
