Danny Rose came off the bench to make his debut for England Under-21s on Monday as the Young Lions defeated Azerbaijan 7-0 at Milton Keynes.

The comfortable friendly win serves as a confidence boost ahead of this summer's European Under-21 Championships, which begin in Sweden next week.

Midfielder Danny, who earned his first international call-up at this level last week, came off the bench for captain Mark Noble in the 55th minute.

By this stage, Stuart Pearce's side were already 4-0 up thanks to goals from Michael Mancienne, Craig Gardner and Lee Cattermole, as well as an own goal from the Azeri goalkeeper.

But Danny still managed to make an impression on the game, setting up two goals for Kieran Gibbs to bring the score up to 6-0. Everton's Jack Rodwell rounded off the scoring in the last minute.

The Young Lions kick off their European Championship campaign against Finland next Monday, and we will follow Danny's progress here on tottenhamhotspur.com.
