Danny and Andros in England squad

Danny Rose has received his first call-up to the senior England national team after manager Roy Hodgson named his squad for the Three Lions’ forthcoming matches today.

Left-back Danny is joined in the 22-man squad by Andros Townsend, who returns to the international fray after injury ruled him out of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

Danny has previously played 29 times for England Under-21s and has also been capped at Under-19, Under-18, Under-17 and Under-16 levels and for Team GB.

Andros has one goal in five senior appearances to his name.

England take on Norway at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday, September 3, before flying to Basel to face Switzerland in their first Euro 2016 qualifier on Monday, September 8.

Meanwhile, four of our players have been named in the England Under-21 squad for next week’s matches against Lithuania on Friday, September 5, and Moldova on Tuesday, September 9.

Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Tom Carroll – currently on loan at Swansea City – are joined by Alex Pritchard, who earns his first call-up at Under-21 level having previously featured for England at last summer's Under-20 World Cup. Midfielder Alex is currently on loan at Championship side Brentford.

In addition, young defender Dominic Ball has been named in the England Under-20 squad for their match against Romania on Friday, September 5.
