Curbs pleased with point

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Charlton manager Alan Curbishley made no excuses for the game’s unspectacular nature, but focused on gaining a valuable point instead.
He said: “The game was a bit dour but we were beaten 5-0 at West Ham on Boxing Day and we had to change things. Our results since have been great thanks to a change in attitude rather than personnel.
“You can say what you like about Spurs but their home record is fantastic, but we came here and got a point so I am pleased.
“It is unfortunate, but some people neglect the values of defending and everyone wants to talk about attack. But we had to improve defensively and you have seen the benefit of it.
“People think it is negative, but Terry Venables is doing it at the Riverside and he is a hero because he has turned it around and brought back the confidence and the results, so I don't think you can be too negative about defending.”
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
