Harry Redknapp said he 'couldn't have asked for more' after the impressive 3-1 FA Cup replay win at Leeds United on Wednesday night.
Jermain Defoe once again led the way with his third hat-trick of the season with two assists from David Bentley. 'Bents' was later named ITV's Man of the Match.
It looked like it might have been one of those nights as Leeds goalkeeper Casper Ankergren - hero of the initial 2-2 draw at the Lane - produced two fine saves before 'JD' opened the scoring in the 37th minute.
Leeds hit back through Luciano Becchio in first half injury time but the second half belond to us.
Ankergren kept us at bay again and JD had a goal disallowed before turning home a fine cross from Bentley in the 78th minute. The striker completed his hat-trick in injury time.
"I thought we played ever so well, I was delighted with everyone," said Harry. "We were under pressure with people coming here expecting to see a cup upset, TV hoping to see an upset, but it didn't happen.
"We were strong, we were solid, we competed. They are a good side but we played well. It was a good-all round performance.
"We came in level at half-time but we had some good chances. We picked ourselves up again in the second half and when we kept the ball I thought we played well.
"We did what we had to do but full credit to Leeds, they have made it two fantastic cup ties."
The win set-up a fifth round tie away to Bolton on Sunday, February 14, kicking-off at 1.30pm.
"It's never an easy place to go but we're playing well," added Harry. "Chelsea, Manchester City, Villa are still in there but we've got a chance in the cup. We've a tough game at Bolton but we've got to go there and try to get a good result."
