On a bitterly cold winter's day just over a week after a Christmas, the magnificent turnout at our Third Round tie with Peterborough United on Saturday proves the magic of the FA Cup lives on at the Lane!

As previously reported on tottenhamhotspur.com, tickets for this match sold out within hours of going on general sale early last month.

And with our East Anglian visitors bringing with them a healthy travelling support, a packed house of 35,862 was the largest attendance of all Third Round ties on Saturday, nearly 5,000 more than the next biggest gate at Goodison Park where Everton took on Carlisle.

The bumper crowd certainly spurred Harry Redknapp's strong side onto a convincing 4-0 victory over our valiant Championship opponents, sending us on our way to what we hope can be a memorable run in this season's FA Cup.

A great start to 2010 and something fans should be proud of. Happy New Year to all!
