The 31-year-old, who made his first start since Boxing Day in the Carling Cup third round clash, lasted an hour of the game but was in clear distress when he left the pitch.
"It may be a slight medial ligament injury," reported David Pleat. "Hopefully it won't be too long, the boy is very upset about it and he worked so hard to get fit.
"He caught his toe in a tackle and it made his knee go back a little bit."
Christian Ziege could face another spell on the sidelines after coming off against West Ham with a knee injury.
