Peter Crouch says it's vital we get ‘back on track' against Sunderland at the Lane tonight.
After the euphoria of beating Inter Milan last week, Bolton brought us back down to earth with a bump and a 4-2 defeat at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.
We now have successive home matches against Sunderland and Blackburn in what Harry Redknapp has described as a ‘massive week'.
The Black Cats showed character to recover from a derby mauling against Newcastle to beat Stoke on Saturday.
That meant they joined ourselves, Bolton, West Brom and Liverpool all on 15 points, two points behind Newcastle in fifth.
"Bolton was disappointing and we have to bounce back and make sure we get a win against Sunderland," said the striker.
"It's so tight. A couple of losses and you can slip down the league but a couple of wins and you could be right back up amongst it.
"We know it will be tough. Sunderland came back well from Newcastle but they have top players and Steve Bruce is a great manager, I think he's fantastic.
"They are a physical side as well but at home, you'd like to think we're favourites. Hopefully we'll start well and I'm confident we can win the game.
"If we're on our game we don't have to worry about the opposition. If we pass the ball how we know we can I'm confident we can beat anyone at White Hart Lane."
