The Bulgarian striker opened his English League account with a routine finish on seven minutes against Sheffield United after a now typical Lennon dash down the right resulted in the ball being squared across the six yard box - leaving the net ripe for rattling.
"The hard work was done by Aaron and mine was the easy part," said the recruit from Bayer Leverkusen. "That is my job though, to be in the right place at the right time and I was there to score.
"I thank Aaron, we played well as a team and won - that is the most important thing."
Dimitar went on to admit that scoring so early in his Spurs career does lift a potential weight off his shoulders.
"It is most important, the main thing for me was to score and I am glad I did it here. We have another game against Everton on Saturday and I hope I can do the same with us playing even better," he added, before mentioning that performing at the Lane proved very much to his liking.
"It was fantastic, hard, but I enjoyed the whole game. I hope we can continue in the same way. We have a lot of quality to come out in the future and I think we will get better and better as the games come along."
Dimitar Berbatov was happy to share the credit for his first Premiership goal with provider-in-chief Aaron Lennon.
