Craig Dolby is confident his track knowledge of Zolder can help Tottenham Hotspur SF build on a promising opening round of the Superleague Formula in Belgium this weekend.
The highly-rated young driver grabbed a podium finish in the first race as the 2009 Superleague Formula series kicked-off at Magny-Cours in France a fortnight ago.
Finishing positions are reversed on the grid for the second race in SF and Craig, starting 16th, weaved his way through the field and actually led at one point before mechanical problems on the final lap saw him slip frustratingly down to 10th.
The mechanical problems meant the car wasn't able to race in the all-new third ‘Super Final' race where the top six cars meet not for points, but for a 100,000 Euro prize.
Liverpool top the table as the series travels to Belgium with us placed fourth overall.
"I feel very good, especially coming back to Zolder," Craig told us as he prepared to go out for a practice session on Friday.
"We made a great start at Magny-Cours and this is a track I know well, I've had five wins here in junior categories. Walking the track yesterday, it brought back so many good memories. I know we can go out there and be fast straight away.
"The team is strong and confidence is high and if I'm not on the podium again I'll be disappointed.
"Ideally though I'd like to go out there and get two good points finishes and try to get to the top of the championship."
