At this stage of the season, many players from abroad miss the winter break. But Vedran Corluka loves English football - and sees Christmas and New Year games as part of the whole package.
Corluka also tells readers of the January issue of hotspur magazine that his nickname is ‘Charlie' as he answers our questions in our exclusive ‘Onside' column.
"We have a month off in Croatia and it gives you time to be with your family more, relax and catch up on things," he says. "But there is also something special about playing at Christmas - and it's a tradition that should be respected."
So how did Charlie Corluka come about?
"People assume I picked it up over here because it's an English name but, in fact, I have been called that from the age of eight," he explains. "A team mate came up with it all those years ago and it's stuck."
Corluka loves London, he cannot believe how much unspoilt countryside he's found in England and he relishes the quality of the pitches here, describing them as "the best in the world."
And with that he's off, whistling the song that he can't get out of his head - ‘Dangerous' by Kardinal Offishall.
He explains: "It's not my style of music, my tastes are definitely Croatian but I'm continually singing it because I hear it on TV so often!"
You'll find it all - and so much more - in the second issue of our popular new-look hotspur magazine.
It's on sale at £3.45 from all Spurs outlets but supporters attending games at the Lane can double up and purchase both hotspur with the matchday programme for the bargain price of £5 from your usual programme seller. The programme alone costs £3.
