The young star of American soccer has agreed terms to join us - the move is now the subject of a work permit application.
A left-sided midfielder with 18 USA caps to his name at the tender age of 20, Bobby impressed in both of our friendly matches against DC United last October and in May this year.
He said: "We played Tottenham twice in the last year and have a great relationship.
"They have watched me play with the national team and DC United and it all came together in the last couple of weeks.
"Tottenham showed interest in me and when a team like Tottenham comes along and asks to add you to their team, as an American player, you want to go there.
"The Premiership is one of the best leagues in the world. It's exciting and the next step for me - to go to England and try to play for a team like Tottenham."
Bobby made his US national debut aged 17 years, 151 days - the third youngest cap in America's history.
He was also the youngest player to score in the MLS at 17 years, 10 months and 11 days when he notched against Kansas City in October 2001.
Bobby Convey has admitted that couldn't turn the opportunity down once we declared an interest in him.
