This summer saw the partnership between our FITC and Haringey Youth Services bring fun and football to over 500 local children per week, in an extensive scheme.
Programmes aimed at Early Years and Youth Services saw FITC work with 12 Play Centres, encompassing 8-11 year-olds, as well as Youth Centres for girls and boys between 8-16 years.
Haringey Youth Centres at Tower Gardens, Ferry Lane and Ducketts Common enjoyed 'twilight sessions' providing early evening coaching sessions for all the youngsters.
All-day weekly courses, throughout the five-week summer holiday period, at Ferry Lane Estate, Chestnuts Youth Centre and Parkview Academy School, provided skills and coaching sessions, as well as organised games in an inter-borough competition.
Head of Haringey Youth Services, Junior Shabaz said: "It was the biggest programme of its kind organised in the borough and Tottenham Hotspur Football in the Community played a major role in the success of the scheme.
"As well as the sessions, the Club also provided those who took part in the programme with the chance to attend the Celtic and Lazio pre-season games at White Hart Lane.
"It was a fantastic experience for the youngsters, many of them never having that opportunity before, and the Youth Service was delighted to be able to bring Haringey children to the Stadium. Their smiling faces certainly said it all."
Meanwhile, outside the borough, the regular summer coaching courses proved a huge success once again.
Children aged 6-14 enjoyed both week-long and day programmes of football coaching at school venues around Hertfordshire, Essex and North London.
