Colin's delight for Yan the man

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Colin Calderwood was full of praise for Yannick Kamanan after his matchwinning show for the reserves at Leicester City on Monday night.

The young striker, 20, scored a goal in each half as we ran out 2-0 winners at Filbert Street.

It was arguably Yannick's best performance of the season and reflected one of our best displays at reserve level this term.

Boss Colin said: "It's probably the best Yannick's played in terms of an overall game rather than flashes of individual brilliance. His workrate was very good and there were a lot of plus points for us from the game.

"He had an influence on everyone around about him, made it hard for defenders all the time and that's something we've tried to stress to him. His willingness to go about his work was very good."

The home side were restricted to just two efforts on goal all night as our midfield trio of Stephen Clemence, Ciaran Toner and John Jackson dictated play.

"Clem came through the game safely which is the big bonus and his pass was a major influence in the first goal," added Colin. "I thought he, John Jackson and Ciaran Toner bossed it out there.

"We played in the right manner, at the right tempo and were still going strong at the end. Our movement was good and we took on board what the club is trying to do in terms of passing and movement.

"We perhaps benefited from having a slightly more experienced side but we still had plenty of Academy boys out there. Young Nicky Wettner, Stephen Kelly, John Sutton, Lee Barnard all played their part and both George Snee and Jamie Quilter could still play for the Under-19s. In bits and pieces you can see the benefits of them playing at this level already."
