Colin on Coventry chief

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Colin Calderwood long suspected that his former Scotland teammate Gary McAllister was management material.

The now Coventry City boss was Colin's national team captain and leadership qualities were, he revealed, very much in evidence.

"He had all the attributes as a very, very good player and was a leader within the Scotland team where he was the captain," said Colin.

"His conduct and manner around the training pitch and towards games was excellent. He has got great discipline and that, I think, is favourable to someone running a football club.

"Coventry have had a tough time coming out of the Premier League and have had to sell players that they wouldn't have done otherwise," he added before reporting that a McAllister appearance on the pitch against us tonight cannot be ruled out.

"He has played this season and the one thing about him is he is probably not going to put too much weight on ever! He still looks the part and lean looking and, I'm sure if he did pick himself, it wouldn't be just to play in another game but to do justice to the shirt."
