John Gorman reckons Gus Poyet will be ready for action again before too long - the highlight of fruitful week at Spurs Lodge following the disappointments against Fulham.
Our assistant boss was able to reflect on the arrival of Stephane Dalmat on a year's loan from Inter Milan, Paul Konchesky's brief 'hello and goodbye' as he departed for England U21 duty having signed a month's loan, Fredi Kanoute, Dean Richards and Ledley King topping up their fitness, Robbie Keane and Kazu Toda back running again and, incredibly, Gus back in the thick of it already.
"Gus is unbelievable," said John. "He only got the go ahead on Wednesday but he's back and done a full stint of training including a practice match.
"Hopefully he'll be knocking on the door once he gets a game or two under his belt."
International weeks are always strange with players away but John added: "Work goes on.
"There are a few players missing so that's difficult but Stephane Dalmat has joined and he's been training with us.
"It's also a plus to have the lads who only recently came back from injury like Dean Richards and Ledley King - they've been working hard.
"We've had a good week all things considered. We're all disappointed after the Fulham game but we've worked hard this week. We're aiming to bounce straight back."
