Chris Hughton is anticipating an entertaining encounter when Newcastle travel to the Lane on Sunday.
Sir Bobby Robson's side are chasing a Champions League place via the Premiership for next season and currently sit in the coveted fourth place. They also well placed to progress in the UEFA Cup following their 4-1 first leg win over Real Mallorca on Thursday.
However, the first team coach is hoping that home advantage proves to be just that.
"Our home results have been good," he reasoned. They are an entertaining side and I'm sure it will be an entertaining game and one full of quality. We're at home and to make the progress we want to make, you have to win your home games.
"On the back of a defeat at Middlesbrough, we need to get a win. You go into this game how you go into every game - you are aware of the qualities in this Newcastle side and you do your homework, work tactically on the training pitch and prepare yourself.
"This is no different. We know what their strengths are but it's on the day. If we play well, we have a chance of winning. If not, they are capable of beating anyone."
