Jimmy Neighbour was delighted to see Jamie O'Hara handed his first reserve team start against Ipswich Town.
Just 17, the midfielder has already made four appearances in the FA Premier Reserve League this season. Three have come as substitute and he scored on his reserve debut.
"I'm delighted with his progress," said Jimmy. "I haven't had that much of him although he's a first year and can play in my team. He's been pushed on early into Pat's team and he's done well in there.
"I'm pleased he was given a start for the reserves and the kid's done well. He's a good footballer, we all know that and if he keeps listening to people and learning, who knows?
"It's the same with Phil Ifil as well. He's very young as well, been away with England Under-20s and there are one or two kids who aren't bad here, it's all about us now being patient and waiting for them to come through.
"They are good kids and hopefully they'll keep their feet on the ground and try to listen to the people trying to help them.
"That's what we're trying to do all the time. If they listen, learn and work on their games, we might just have a couple of players on our hands."
