The Club has dedicated tonight's game to the Tickets For Troops campaign, the charity which provides free tickets to top sporting and musical events to members of our Armed Forces.
Tottenham Hotspur has been a supporter of Tickets For Troops since it launched last season and the Club will be donating tickets over the duration of the forthcoming season.
Over 1,200 troops and their families will be attending tonight's game at White Hart Lane including representatives from RAF Waddington, RAF Northolt, the Royal Marines, Royal Artillery and the 16 Assault Brigade based in Colchester who are due to deploy in Afghanistan in September.
Among them is Corporal David Hayden, a lifelong Spurs fan and member of the RAF Regiment, who has already been on tours of duty to Iraq and Afghanistan and will be returning to the latter in October.
The Club is committed to supporting British troops and has regularly provided tickets to matches for those serving in the forces. As well as our backing for Tickets For Troops, we also support Help For Heroes' fund-raising campaigns.
Tickets For Troops has attracted a lot of support and there are a variety of events available. As well as our game tonight against Villarreal, other recent events which have donated tickets to the organisation include the British F1 Grand Prix, The Open Championship at St Andrews, England's one day international cricket matches against Australia and Bangladesh and concerts to see the likes of Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi and Leona Lewis.
Being a charity, they rely solely on the generosity of ticket donors and also that of individuals.
